checked on chrome, seems to work fine on my computer I think the most likely cause is that the game is failing to save progress - have you blocked that somehow?
Ok I think I've managed to replicate the bug - when I reopen the game on Chrome the first level has a saved solution but not a saved cycle count and doesn't unlock the second level until I complete it again. Is that what you're experiencing?
I've looked everywhere, but I could never quite find anything like this! There just isn't a lot of, I don't know what to call this, besides Zachtronics. Besides, Zachtronics isn't free.
is it intended that we can remove pre-placed objects in the level? I am stuck on how to get the 30 cycles in level 2 and I think that might be because I am trying to not remove any pre-placed parts even though I can.

I do not have access to rotate or fast velocity block, on top of that molecules are currently treating pistons like solid blocks
I don't know about the blocks, but to make a piston push you need an atom to move behind it.
not fun. the mechanics are unintuitive, and you have to have a bachelor's in problem solving to beat the first level.

I'd say this game was good if there was a proper tutorial. The GIF doesn't explain nearly enough.

Yep, the pre-placed parts in 2 are intended to show the splitting feature, not to restrict your solution
